In my work I investigate themes evoking moments in time and place, memory and the essence of form. My desire is to blur the place between the literal and the abstract to give an atmosphere of repose; a wavering between the stirring and the calm.
Donna Rini resides and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including Documenta 7 and the Paris Biennale. The work is represented in public and private collections and archives, including Universität Oldenburg, West Germany; Franklin Furnace Archive, New York; The New Museum, New York; and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She is a California native and received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
